Passing on the prayers....

Mason has been showered with many things. Love, affection, and lots of prayers. Even before Mason was born, he was in so many peoples thoughts and prayers. And now its time to share those prayers with a special little girl named Charlotte. This beautiful little girl is in need of some prayers and generosity. Charlotte is in an orphanage, simply because she has Down syndrome. In the country she lives in, children with DS are put into a orphanage until they are 4, then they are put in a mental institute. Just because of DS. I think of Mason, and tears fill my eyes as I think that somewhere else there are children just like him, sitting unloved. So I ask you to help Charlotte. Her New parents are in the final stages of adopting her, but there is a cost to all of this. There are plane tickets, court fees, adoption fees, ect. So to lighten the burden on this wonderful family....I ask for your prayers and for a small donation for Charlotte.

The perfect ones.

Well I know you cant tell by the picture, but we had a pretty big scare with Mason on Friday.

We call his cardiologist first thing Friday morning due to the fact that Mason was showing signs of heart failure again. He had purple puffy hands, moudling, sleeping more ( slept 14 hrs that night), and eating less. These are all warning signs that we were told to watch for. So Cardio said to call his pediatrician also. We call them and we all agree to go to ER as quickly as possible. I called Cory to tell him they want him to go to ER, and I just lost it.... I tried not to cry, but I just couldn't help it. The tears kept flowing down my cheeks. It just didn't seem fair. We have had to go through so much, while other don't have a care in the world. They just continue to live their life in their perfect bubble.

While the tears fell. Cory said, " Meagan, its fine, This is just how we have to do with Mason. We have to be strong. " And he was right. THis is just how it is. We will make extra Dr. visits , hospital trips, therapy sessions, and most likely more surgerys. But its nothing we cant handle. Yes its hard some times, when others seem to live without a care or problem, but if you look close, you can see the cracks in their perfect world. I wouldn't want to put on a "show" to make the world think we are perfect. Our family has its hard times....but God has and will support us during our trials and tribulations. So in the end, I feel sorry for the "perfect ones".

On this day, exactly 1 year ago today, My world was shattered.

Today is full of emotions. Both good and bad.

I remember exactly how I felt when hearing the results of the ultrasound from Dr. Gleason.
I remember trying not to cry while leaving the office,
I remember sitting in the driveway crying, not wanting to go inside and tell Cory what I found out.
I remember Cory holding me tightly after all I could say was "there is something wrong with Mason".
I remeber our family gathering, with tear filled eyes, praying with us.
I remember that night, in the shower, I just cried and cried.

We were told that Mason would have a 3% chance of surviving.

We put all our faith in God, and we prayed.... lots of people prayed with us.

Now here we are, a year later, and holding a miracle.

We praise God for our blessing, and we continue to thank him for for all he has done
