We are leaving tomorrow evening for Children's Mercy. We have pre op Wed morning at 8am. Praying for strength for Mason, I, and Cory.

ReplyDeleteFrom a dad whose daughter had open heart surgery five weeks ago: This week might not be easy, but Mason will show you incredible strength, more than you think a five month old is capable of. Feed off that, be there for each other, and don't be afraid to question your doctors and nurses. You know Mason best, and while the medical professionals know the anatomy of an infant, you know his personality, his body, and when things aren't quite right. Good doctors and nurses will listen to, and appreciate, input from parents. Be a strong advocate for your son. He sure is a cutie!
